Hi, I’m Nathalie and I love food! I grew up in a family where food was really important and this is probably part of why I became a dietitian. Today I have my Masters in Dietetics and run a private practice. This blog is my space where I share recipes inspired by my clients and their needs, I answer questions and share some of the questions being asked by the media.
Eating delicious, healthy food can be quick, easy and manageable – I want to show you how…
My food philosophy is simple: I enjoy real food. Most of the foods you’ll find on my blog are sourced in the city after a full day’s work and I’ll warn you if you can’t find a certain food in your local supermarket. I prefer mostly plant foods but I also eat animal products. I do like to know that the animals I eat did not suffer when they were alive and like to honour them by making something truly delicious.
I used to be a comfort eater and my journey as a dietitian has helped me find a balance that I hope you already do or will have in common with me one day. I’ve stopped using words like “treat”, “junk” and “bad/good” when it comes to food. These imply all kinds of judgement and emotions that really
don’t belong around food. If anything, I refer to food as healthy or less healthy and I aim for a balance of at least 80% healthy foods. I still enjoy the odd occasion when something less healthy sneaks in. After all, what would life be without a glass of wine or a block of chocolate? They add to our quality of life!
